Huddersfield Town dilemma vs Nottingham Forest highlighted by conflicting predicted lineups Our two Huddersfield Town specialists are going head-to-head over their predicted teams for managerless Nottingham Forest’s visit to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday. Huddersfield Town’s excellent start to the season has the chance to continue on Saturday as a struggling Nottingham Forest come to West Yorkshire. The Terriers have a good recent record against the Tricky Trees (best nickname in football) and come into this with no fear after Tuesday’s 3-0 win in Blackpool. Forest parted ways with manager Chris Hughton on Thursday and are currently rock bottom of the Championship with only a single point from their first seven games. With that in mind it’s time to look at what Carlos Corberan might do with his starting eleven and this week we’re pitting our two Terriers experts against each other in a battle to see who is the best. Alternatively, we’re just getting two opinions but framing it like a fight is more fun. So, here are Steven Chicken and David Hartrick’s best guesses at Town’s first eleven. Preview: Huddersfield Town vs. Nottingham Forest - prediction, team news, lineups Nottingham Forest head into Saturday's Championship fixture with Huddersfield Town having opted to part ways with manager Chris Hughton. While Forest sit at the bottom of the standings, Huddersfield are in sixth spot after winning four of their last five matches. On the back of suffering a sixth league defeat in seven matches, it was somewhat inevitable that Forest would choose to sack Hughton in the hours after the loss to Middlesbrough. Forest have still not conceded more than two goals in a game this season, but the manner of their latest setback meant that the veteran's position had become untenable. The club's hierarchy, who remain under-fire from large section of the club's supporters, have announced that Steven Reid will take caretaker charge of the team. However, there will be a demand for a permanent appointment to be made as soon as possible, particularly with the East Midlands outfit still four points adrift of safety. Their next opponents were criticised last season with Carlos Corberan often failing to prove that he is the right man for the job at the John Smith's Stadium. Nevertheless, the patience of the Huddersfield board is now being rewarded, Tuesday's 3-0 win at Blackpool leaving the Terriers in sixth position. Five of their nine goals conceded came in the same match, and there is increasing confidence that Corberan is getting things right at both ends of the pitch. Defender Matty Pearson tops the goalscoring charts with three strikes, but midfielder Sorba Thomas remains the star of the campaign with one goal and four assists. While Corberan will opt to take one match at a time over the coming weeks, there is a window of opportunity to cement their place in the playoffs with a favourable schedule ahead of them. Carlos Corberan is hopeful he will have the same players available to choose from once again when Nottingham Forest come to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Huddersfield Town boss was awaiting precautionary medical assessments on potential niggles for two or three unspecified players when he spoke to us at Friday morning’s press conference, but insists that is completely normal after a midweek game and is not necessarily cause for any alarm. Corberan usually has no compunction about naming injured players before games and said if there was any major issue he would not hesitate to tell us who those players were on this occasion - but explained that he did not want to create unnecessary panic by naming players who may well turn out to be absolutely fine ahead of Saturday’s game.
